READING IS AN INVESTMENT - Entrepreneurship
Hi Grown ups,
Each year the library offers this program to NewBrook students. Since I'm not meeting with students weekly this year I thought it might be a fun thing for families to do together. I've given an overview to the program in the first video below.
Here's how it works:
1. Each year the VT State Treasury Dept. helps our students learn about a money concept. This year it's Entrepreneurship.
2. Students read 3 books on the concept of entrepreneurship. There are recordings of the read alouds below. along with optical extension activities related to the concept
3. Ms. Bostrom sent home a reading log. Each time a student reads one of the money books they fill out the "money" square. Every time you read to your child or you have them watch my read alouds (my youtube channel is below) for 20 minutes they fill out an 'open' square.
4. Once the reading log is complete, please return it to Ms. Bostrom. We will be turning in all of the reading logs as a school. You do have an option for turning them in electronically if you choose.
5. All of the reading logs from across the state are entered into a raffle for a $250 college savings account. There are 20 winners.
If you have any questions please reach out. fchevalier@windhamcentral.org
Happy Reading,
Ms. Fiona
